KATWA: MUSLIM YOUTH LEAGUE AT PUNJAB HIGH COURT TO PRESERVE JUSTICE

Chandigarh: Legal battle of Katwa case which has gained national attention is moving towards Haryana High Court. The appeal filed by accused against the Pathankot trial court’s verdict of conviction has received in court. Advocate Mubeen Farooqi for girl’s father has appeared in High Court on first day. The court which shifted hearing to 18th of this month, send notice to JK government. Earlier, the prosecution had announced of going for appeal to demand capital punishment for accused, but crime branch had not been granted permission. The prosecution team is waiting for the approval from JK government.
Meanwhile Adv. Mubeen Farooqi has informed that an appeal will be filed on behalf of girl’s father. He also ventilated that, by the support of Muslim Youth League National Committee, the senior lawyers itself would be produced at high court. Youth League National General Secretary CK Subair, Vice President Adv. VK Faisal Babu and Executive Member Shibu Meeran had been in Chandigarh. The leaders with Adv. Mubeen Farooqi had met in personal with senior lawyers Rajvinder Singh Bias and Jag Mohan Singh Bhatti and discussed. The team of lawyers headed by them will be appearing in front of two division bench of Punjab – Haryana High Court for Katwa girl’s father in upcoming days.
Muslim Youth League National General Secretary CK Subair made clear that they would remain vigilant and stand firmly with girl’s family until the legal battle of Katwa finds an end. Subair also said that service of well-prepared lawyers would be ensured at high court.
